Winter Storm Warning 12/9/2014

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 7 am EST Thursday.

• Locations: Central Southern Tier, portions of the Finger Lakes region, and Bradford County Pennsylvania.
• Hazards: wintry mix and heavy snow.
• Accumulations: 6 to 10 inches of snow. Less than a tenth of an inch of ice.
• Timing: Light wintry mix of freezing rain, sleet, and snow developing this morning. Light rain or snow midday through early evening, will then become mainly snow tonight, heavy at times. Steady snow will persist through early Thursday morning.
• Temperatures: upper 20s to mid 30s today through Wednesday, then 20s Wednesday night.
• Winds: northwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
• Impacts: hazardous travel from light ice this morning. Little Impact much of the day, but then travel will become dangerous tonight in heavy snow. Slippery travel can be expected through early Thursday morning.
